It is IMPOSSIBLE for you to procrastinate

No one procrastinates. Even though I teach how to overcome procrastination, it’s really a misnomer.

You never procrastinate: you only choose to do activities that are not going to contribute to you achieving your most important goals, projects, or tasks as quickly as possible. Continue reading It is IMPOSSIBLE for you to procrastinate

Another Year — And Decade — In The Books

Now is the time to take stock of not only the last year, but also the last decade. This Thursday will be the end of the first decade of the 3rd millennium AD.

Think back to the end of the year 1999. Did you expect to be where you are today (2009) back then? Most people tell me “No.” Not that that’s a good or a bad thing. It is what it is. Things change.

Did you have one or more 10-year goals in 1999? Most people didn’t. Most people never get really clear about what they want.

Thinking long-term is a very good strategy if you want to be successful. Continue reading Another Year — And Decade — In The Books

Cut to the Chase

The natural inclination of every human being is to be happy (gain pleasure) and avoid pain and suffering.

You don’t want the big new house, the new car, the perfect relationship, or even the perfect family visit this holiday season. You want Continue reading Cut to the Chase

The Virtues of Veggin’

By veggin’ I mean to relax and take it easy. To take a load off. To kick back and ‘veg out.’

I’m not one to suggest veggin’ very often, mainly because most people have the opposite problem. Most people spend way too much time veggin’: excessively watching TV; playing video games; social networking. I’m not judging. It is what it is.   Continue reading The Virtues of Veggin’

What’s in a name?

Do you feel 'lucky'?

Luck is a very interesting term. In it contains a bit of uncertainty, the unknown, and chance. When things are going your way, they say, you should play the lottery because you’re lucky or going through a lucky streak.

But is this true? Is luck always a matter of chance or do we have some control over the way things turn out?   Continue reading Do you feel ‘lucky’?

Develop the “Do-It-Now” Habit

This may seem trivial, but have you ever cooked a wonderful meal, enjoyed it and then left the dishes to do later? Like the next day (or even longer)? How easy was it to clean those dishes? Did you need a paint scraper, SOS pad or hammer and chisel to clean off the dried-on food?   Continue reading Develop the “Do-It-Now” Habit

Freeways, Cars, and Trucks – Part II

CDs are a hassle and cumbersome to carry around in your car and pack for travel. If you leave them in your car they could get ripped off or destroyed if left in the hot sun. They should be converted to MP3, loaded into your MP3 player and used as a backup in case something happens to your MP3 player.  Continue reading Freeways, Cars, and Trucks – Part II

Freeways, Cars, and Trucks – Part I

Do you commute? I know people in California who commute an hour and a half each way to work. That’s three hours a day round trip, five days a week for a total of 15 hours a week. Multiply that by 50 weeks and you get 750 hours or 93 8-hour days spent commuting every year.  Continue reading Freeways, Cars, and Trucks – Part I
