CDs are a hassle and cumbersome to carry around in your car and pack for travel. If you leave them in your car they could get ripped off or destroyed if left in the hot sun. They should be converted to MP3, loaded into your MP3 player and used as a backup in case something happens to your MP3 player.
If you’re still using cassette tapes, GET WITH THE PROGRAM! You can convert them yourself (Google search for ‘convert cassette to cd‘) or there are services that will convert your old cassette tapes into standard audio CDs or MP3 files that you can then load into your iPod. You could buy a special recording unit that will easily convert them for you and then you could sell the unit on eBay to mitigate the cost.
If you don’t have an iPod or other user-friendly MP3 player, I would highly recommend getting one. The iPhone is even better. It’s an iPod on steroids. Mine has 32 gigs of storage, which holds about 7,000 songs. I love it because now I don’t have to carry around an extra iPod because everything I need is on the iPhone. I plug it into my car stereo and if I get a phone call, it automatically pauses the recording I’m listening to and the telephone rings through the car stereo speakers!
If you’re in the market for an iPhone, get the biggest, fastest model. You’ll be glad you did. Why do I need 32 gigs of storage or 7,000 songs capacity? Because only part of my iPhone contains ‘songs’ or music. Hey, I’m not against listening to music. I was a professional musician for 25 years. I love music! Listening to music is a good mood changer and can be therapeutic. But I also like listening to personal growth material.
Personal growth has been a hobby of mine since 1980 when I was 22 years old. That’s when I decided to grow up and get serious about my career as a professional musician. Back then I listened to personal growth cassette tapes I purchased from Nightingale-Connant. I’ve since converted them all to MP3 and they’re all on my iPhone for instant access.
Virtually every successful person I know has an extensive success library. Why not turn otherwise unproductive drive time into your virtual university on wheels and grow as you go? That’s being productive.
